What exactly is a “Whippslash” you ask? Well that’s a simple
enough question. A “Whippslash” is what happens when I, Mr. Whipps, decide to
bloviate (as my good friend Bill O’Reilly likes to say) regarding any number of
topics. Now given the fact that I am writing here on this great site known as
townhall.com, it is safe to say that I am a Republican, a conservative, and a traditionalist.
I believe we here in the United States of America are privileged to not only
live in the greatest country on earth, but also be part of the greatest
civilization the world has ever seen. Now that’s a pretty big thing to have on
our resume. Wouldn’t you say?
With that being said, don’t you find it strange that so many
Americans are in the business of cutting us down? I for one fully understand
that our country isn’t perfect. For example I believe that our legal system is
currently in the worst shape it’s ever seen and continues to decline. I also unfortunately
can say I currently have very little faith in it. And that’s sad. But you know
what? I know the foundation that our legal system is based on is honorable, it’s
just that too many of the people calling the shots in it aren’t. You can see
this anytime a ridiculous sentence is handed out to child rapists, drunk
drivers, and even murderers. It’s almost as if the extreme liberal judges in
this country are more concerned about the criminal’s well being than that of
the victim. Somehow you would think that this would be common sense.
But before this column takes an unintended turn towards
griping about our country’s legal system, let me get back to talking about what
this column is all about. After all, that’s what a first posting should be
about, right?
Getting back to the original question of what a “Whippslash”
is, I think you may have gotten a little taste of it in the above couple of
paragraphs. Luckily I was able to curb it before I went off on a tangent, but I
think you got the general idea of it. So before we wrap things up on this inaugural
post, I wanted to take a minute to let you know that I plan on covering all
aspects of politics world wide. I will do this with an array of passion,
excitement, and humor.
After all, if we can’t incorporate all three of those aspects
of ourselves into what we do, what’s the point in doing it?
